As we move through the gears to the more modern 3D Mark 11 the GTX970 starts gaining traction, moving up from the bottom of the GTX780s to above some very heavy hitting cards. R9 290X, HD7990, even an overclocked GTX780 Lightning. Impressive stuff from such a low power card at stock.
