Overclocking

Curiously the overclock mode on the Red Devil just adds more volts, which isn’t the best method of overclocking a RX Vega GPU. Instead it’s all about thermals and the power target. Therefore we actually found we were getting worse scores with the overclock BIOS than we achieved with the standard one. But we wouldn’t be called Overclock3D if we couldn’t overclock 3D cards, so with the BIOS set to standard we manually overclocked it to achieve our OC results today. As you can see the Red Devil doesn’t challenge the cards at the top of the graph in the average Boost Clock results. We’ll see how the scores are affected.

It turns out our OC mode issues were driver related. By the time you get yours at home though it should all be fixed.
