RTX 3060 Ti Roundup – ASUS TUF, MSI Gaming X Trio, Gigabyte Eagle
ASUS RTX 3060 Ti TUF
As always with the ASUS TUF it’s not quite up there with their ROG products in terms of packaging flash, but then it’s not meant to be. This is the card that is aimed at the people who want an ASUS product but haven’t got the budget to push up to a Strix or similar. You’re getting the majority of the ASUS quality without the hefty price tag, and the packaging reflects this.
The shroud is an all aluminium affair with the ASUS triple fan design and three identically sized fans. Plenty of slashes to expel air into your case and away from the card, and the tiniest bit of RGB lighting.
Around the back we have more aluminium with holes in some odd places. We get some of them, but the ones between the main GPU area and the cutout at the end – something which is appearing in more and more cards lately – are baffling. You can also see the switch that toggles between Performance and Quiet mode. No prizes for guessing what we’re running with.
It’s a very thick card, triple slot, and there isn’t much of the fan surround going down the sides, so there is plenty of room for air to flow across the heatsink and keep everything cool. We also adore the big, fat heat pipes bristling out of every gap. It certainly promises to be a cool card if nothing else.
