The Technomancer PC Performance Review

The Technomancer PC Performance Review

Introduction

RPGs are often best played on PC, where the graphics can be turned to their highest and the framerate can be the highest and most stable on modern PC hardware.

The Technomancer’s console versions are locked to 30FPS, giving a steady experience at the cost of faster, more fluid feel of higher framerates. Thankfully in the PC version of this game the framerate is unlocked, allowing PC gamers to play with framerates of 60 and beyond provided that they have powerful enough hardware.

In this new world, you will move from cities to wastelands and beyond in this new world as you search for the truth, offering some fantastic looking locations though certainly not the best graphics that you will find on PC.

Now for the big questions, how well does it run and does this game have a PC version that is worth my time? Let’s find out.

Drivers

For this game, we will be using the newest drivers that were available when the game released, which is Nvidia’s Game Ready Geforce 368.39 driver and AMD’s 16.6.1 driver, both of which are the most recent GPU drivers for either company.

Test Setup

We will be testing this game on our dedicated GPU test rig using both high-end and mid-range GPUs from both AMD and Nvidia.

Right now we are currently working towards updating our game testing setup, so hopefully we will be able to provide data for AMD’s Polaris and Nvidia’s Pascal GPUs soon.

To represent AMD and Nvidia’s Mid-range GPU offerings we have decided to use the AMD R9 380 and the Nvidia GTX 960. Both of these GPUs will be the ASUS Strix models

Both of these GPUs offer very similar performance in most scenarios and come in at very similar price points, so it will be very interesting to see which GPU will come out on top.
