ASUS ROG Strix Impact II Gaming Mouse Review
Software
Such is the need for a wholesale revamp of the ASUS Armoury II software suite that the first 6 times we did an install/reboot/connect cycle the software resolutely refused to accept an ASUS product was connected. Finally we did get it to work and the options are exactly as good as you would hope to find, with multiple profiles, customisation options and lighting effects. The lighting options are counter-intuitive with the brightness controlling how much white is in the colour, rather than actual brightness, which is a setting on the right. It’s very much like the NZXT CAM software in that it’s fine when it works, but ‘when it works’ isn’t as reliable as we’d expect from a major manufacturer.
