Corsair K95 Platinum Speed Review
Introduction
The Corsair Vengeance range of keyboards quickly established them as major players in the peripheral market. Whilst a big of a company reshuffle has seem them branded under the Corsair Gaming arm of the company, the underlying products build upon those early successes.
We’ve reviewed the K95 RGB before, but here in its Platinum guise Corsair have taken all of the best features from their products and combined them into one behemoth, a keyboard which promises to be all things to all people, from the Cherry MX switches, the ‘could bludgeon someone to death’ build quality all the way through RGB lighting – with a new light bar to play with – and the dedicated media keys.
This particular model we have in for review today is the “Speed” version of the two Cherry MX types. Brown are available for those of you who like to stick to your guns, but the reduced actuation height of the Cherry MX Speed should be a boon to everyone, whether you’re new to the world of mechanical gaming keyboards or a veteran old hand.
Technical Specifications
As with all keyboard reviews the enjoyment is to be found in the pictures rather than the rather businesslike specification table, but we want to draw your attention to the weight of the K95 Platinum. The all-metal construction means this really is a weapon, in both the metaphorical and literal senses of the word. Beefy.
