Corsair K95 Platinum Speed Review

Up Close

The Corsair Gaming packaging has always been attention grabbing thanks to the yellow flashes that differentiate it from the world of all black with a tiny bit of red peripherals that have come to dominate the packaging market. A quick perusal of the reverse side shows how much Corsair have squeezed onto the K95 Platinum. Programmable macro keys, per key lighting, onboard profiles, dedicated media keys. If it has ever appeared on a mechanical gaming keyboard then it is to be found here on the K95 Platinum. Inside the box Corsair have provided a proper wrist rest with a reversible rubber portion. It’s not as comforting as a gel wrist rest is, but it’s a darn good wrist rest given the hard plastic that usually gets included with keyboards. Corsair have also included a set of curved and textured keys for those of you more likely to game than type with the K95 Platinum. The textured space bar takes a little getting used to, but otherwise wherever you look you find quality – from the six macro keys on the left hand side to the all metal volume wheel on the right. It’s a product that feels just as high-end as it looks. The braided cable alone, with its tight but soft feel braid and extremely thick dimensions should clue you in to what to expect from this upgraded K95.
