Cougar 700M Evo Mouse Review
Up Close – Packaging and Overview
When you review as many mice as we do you get used to the type of packaging that they arrive in, and so it was with a sense of surprise that we got our hands on the Cougar 700M Evo, with a packaging design that strays far away from the standard cardboard box we so often see.
The underside has a full specification table as well as a bullet point list. The benefit to having so much real estate to work with.
Inside the box, and beneath the reflective mouse stand, we find a separate set of sliders for the underside, an alternative palm rest and four weights to help you fine tune the balance of the 700M Evo.
We know that the following statement ages us, but the 700M Evo certainly looks like a mouse from the space age. When you’ve seen as many interchangeable mice it’s so refreshing to see one which looks far outside the norm and yet doesn’t compromise it’s comfort to achieve this unique aesthetic. We’ll look at it more closely on the next page, but for now you have a button on the thumb rest that works as a sniper button, a button alongside the LMB/RMB pair, a DPI/Profile switch button behind the scroll wheel, the weight slot behind that with the adjustable palm rest at the rear alongside the DPI indicator lights. Phew.
On the underside things look a lot more normal, and it’s surprising how much of the metal chassis weight is down low for best handling. Excellent.
