Conclusion

The Dominator Platinum have been around for a long time and up until now the revisions have been minor. We think the Special Edition is a big enough change to pique the interest of even those who didn't like the original design. The modified LEDs help light up your case whilst also enhancing the looks of the DP themselves.

Speaking of those looks, and that after all is exactly why we're here, the updated Dominator Platinum is stunningly gorgeous. Cover of FHM levels of lovely. The Blackout design would be perfect if you prefer a stealthy case, but we think that the Chrome is definitely the one to go for. The mirrored finish helps bring a level of class to proceedings whilst also helping reflect whichever internal lighting you're going for.

With so many RAM Kits being pretty ordinary except for the sticker, it really takes something special to manage to wow us, but the Corsair Dominator Platinum Special Edition has managed it. It's an event to open, a treat for the eyes whether your system is on or off and, thanks to the 3200MHz speed and legendary Corsair bulletproof compatibility then it's just as much fun to use as it is to look at.
