We’ve got six different setups for testing the Thermaltake DDR4. Surprisingly it is capable of being run all the way up at 4000 MHz without adjusting the voltage at all, thus 1.35v is good enough for a stable run. This is very much worth noting if you are in the market for some new memory and wondering if the price difference of the faster kit is worth the expense. Silicon lottery is going to be a factor, but the one we have isn’t a specially selected review kit, merely an off-the-shelf retail example.

Pushing the voltage up further to 1.4v lets us run at a staggering 4400 MHz, 800 MHz better than rated for a mere .05 increase in voltage. Impressive kit this. Timings is where really expensive memory comes in to play and having checked with Thermaltake they rate their kit happy to run at 1.65v, which allowed us to drop the timings from 18-19-19-39-2T to 14-19-19-28-1T. A significant drop. This kit is nothing if not hugely flexible. How does this affect the results? Read on.
