ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI Review

Conclusion

Like all of the high end ROG routers, the newest Rapture is not for casual users. Price is obviously prohibitive. But similarly it only makes sense if you’re going to use the majority of its features. Most of us have a computer, a phone or two, a TV and a console tied to our router. If that’s you, the GT-BE19000AI is obviously overkill.

However, if you’re even slightly more flexible than that, or paranoid, then you fall within the target audience. Flexible because of the amount of connections the Rapture supports. Not just hard ones, but wireless too. It scans for traffic within its sphere and makes the connection process as smooth and seamless as possible. By utilising the NPU for traffic management everyone, and everything, gets just the right amount of bandwidth. This lowers latency and ensures a crisp experience all round. Additionally the guest mode really boosts your security. Let’s say for a moment that you’re holding a LAN party. Three good friends you’d trust with your life, but one has brought a +1 to fill out the numbers. Get them connected via the guest account and they get the speedy experience everyone else does, but your home network remains secure.

Obviously if you’re especially private, or you run an enterprise where data security is a paramount concern, then the combination of NPU and built in monitoring ensures nobody gets within sight of your Network who you don’t want there.

As you’ve seen throughout today’s coverage of the newest ROG Rapture, every box is ticked. Loads of connection options. Plenty of granular control but not at the expense of usability. Super strong signal lets you connect from figurative miles away, but in built security ensures that nobody else can. A whole host of monitoring tools keep you abreast of what’s going on, and an AI assistant helps you get to the information you need with the minimum of fuss.

It might be overkill for most people, but if you want the specific set of features the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI has then little else comes close, winning it our OC3D Enthusiast Award.
