Best SSD of Computex 2024 – Sabrent’s APEX X16 Rocket 5 Destroyer

This SSD is nuts! You’ve got to hand it to Sabrent, they know how to push SSD storage to the limit. Their Apex X16 Rocket 5 Destroyer is a monster SSD. Yes, it is technically sixteen SSDs, but you can address it as a single, colossal storage device. A Gimli once said, “That still only counts as one!!”

This SSD is crazy, and I don’t expect many people to want or need this level of SSD performance. Even so, you’ve got to respect Phison and Sabrent to making this thing possible. People asked how fast we could push PCIe 5.0 storage. Phison and Sabrent answered, to 56 GB/s.

Honourable Mention – MSI’s SPATIUM Vapour Chamber SSD cooler

The introduction of PCIe 5.0 brought with it some hot running SSDs. That focused a lot of the SSD industry’s effort into SSD cooling solutions. Some people made traditional heatsinks, some opted for liquid cooling. MSI? They made an awesome looking see-through non-metal two-phase cooling solution for their SPATIUM SSD lineup.

Will this cooler make it to market? Who knows… Does it look awesome? Yes!
