Meet the ROG Strix 1000W Aura White Edition
We’re getting getting ready to build an all-white ASUS BTF gaming PC, and the folks over at ROG told us that they had the perfect PSU for us. This PSU is the ROG Strix 1000W AURA White Edition, and it just made sense to review it while its here.
This is an ATX 3.0 compatible PSU with 80+ Gold Efficiency levels and a Cybenetics Lambda A+ noise rating. This PSU promises to be quiet, and its white aesthetic is perfect for all-white PC builds.
High-end specifications
ASUS prides themselves in making high quality power supplies. As always, this new ROG power supply features “ROG Heatsinks”, which feature two times more volume than traditional PSU heatsinks. That enables lower operating thermals and longer component lifespans. This also allows this specific unit to run fanlessly for loads up to 600W.
This specific power supply also features a strong aluminium case, AURA Sync lighting, and an Axial-tech fan. The PSU is also backed by a 10-year warranty, and features a Cybenetics A+ noise certification.
High-Performance copper pins for high-power scenarios
ASUS has upgraded the PCIe connectors on this power supply with “high-performance copper pins”. These pins are more thermally conductive than standard pins, which allows them to run cooler than standard PCIe power pins.
It’s claimed that these pins can run up to 12.28 degrees Celsius cooler than standard PCIe power pins when in use. This ensures higher levels of system stability, even during high load scenarios.
This PSU is QUIET!
Want a quiet system? ASUS’ ROG Strix Gold Aura 1000W power supply is Cybenetics Lambda A+ certified. That means that this PSU generates less than 20 dB of sound on average during their testing. That means that this PSU it pretty much inaudible during most use cases.
This power supply runs fanlessly until 600 watts of load is applied. At 80% loads (800W), this PSU delivers 20 dB noise levels. That’s crazy quiet! Even at 100% loads, this PSU doesn’t make much noise. ASUS have done a great job making this new PSU quiet.
