Gears 5 Alpha Test Performance Review

1440p Performance – Benchmark Results

At 1440p we were only able to achieve steady 60 FPS framerates when using our RTX 2080 Ti graphics card, but given our benchmark results, similar feats should be possible on Nvidia’#s RTX 2070 Super, RTX 2080 and GTX 1080 Ti.

60 FPS framerates should also be possible on AMD’s Radeon VII, and perhaps the company’s latest Radeon Navi RX 5700 series graphics cards. Sadly, we do not have an RX 5700 series graphics card on hand to test with Gears 5, so we cannot comment on how Gears 5 will respond to AMD’s Radeon Navi architecture. 

Both our RX 580 and GTX 1060 are capable of 1440p 30 FPS framerates, while the RTX 2060, GTX 1080 and RX Vega 56 should be capable of 60 FPS framerates when using the game’s high preset.
