Journey PC Performance Review

Journey is a game that needs little introduction, the PlayStation classic which quickly became the fastest selling PlayStation Network game to date when it launched back in 2012, with the game finding additional success on PlayStation 4 when the title was re-released with enhanced visuals and a higher framerate.

Thatgamecompany, the studio behind Journey, was founded in 2006 and released their first game Flow in 2007, with their next game, Flower releasing in 2009. Journey remains the company’s most popular title, receiving praise from most reviewers and several “Game of the Year” awards after launch. The game was also nominated for “Best Score for Visual Media” at the 2013 Grammy Awards.

Now, Journey has arrived on PC, bringing the PlayStation classic to a new audience of (Windows) PC gamers, enabling the game to be played at higher resolutions than PlayStation 4 and with advanced settings like 8x MSAA and support for an unlocked framerate. In short, Journey has never looked better, which is great news for newcomers to the game.

In this performance analysis, we will be assessing the PC performance of Journey, advising you on how the get the best performance out of your system and highlight issues with that need to be addressed on the game’s PC version. There’s a lot to cover here, so please turn over to the next page to get started.
