Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

Testing Considerations – Why we benchmarked two areas of Jedi: Fallen Order

A lot of hardware websites like to rush their game analysis articles, test as many graphics cards as possible and call it a day. Doing this ensures that the job is done quickly, and in many cases that will yield good web traffic, but at OC3D we always work to ensure that our results are representative of what players should expect. This means that we never test level 1 of games, and will not use in-game benchmarks unless they present similar results to normal in-game scenarios.

With Jedi: Fallen Order, PC gamers will not be able to see this game’s shortcomings in the first few levels of the game. Fallen Order’s introduction has been polished to a mirror shine, and players need to travel to Kashyyyk (the Wookie Homeworld) before we see the game properly stress out PCs. Kashyyyk is world 4 of Jedi: Fallen Order, 5th is we include the game’s first level.

Kashyyyk is a very demanding level within Jedi: Fallen Order, and as such is offers stresses that a lot of the game’s other levels lack. With this in mind, we have tested two levels of Jedi Fallen Order to help showcase the game’s varying performance levels on PC. When testing Fallen Order, we have benchmarked sections of the game’s Kashyyyk level and areas of the game’s Zeffo level. This effectively doubled our benchmarking workload, though that’s the price that needed to be paid for the sake of fully representative results.
