Graphics Settings Comparisons – Does Fallen Order look Good?
Unlike most other PC games, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s lowest settings are included in the game’s Medium preset. With this move, Respawn Entertainment has drawn a clear line regarding how far the developer will compromise on graphics for the sake of performance.
With this in mind, we will say that Jedi: Fallen Order looks pretty good at Medium settings, though we will note that shadow pop-in becomes more noticeable and that the quality of many of the game’s materials drops significantly. That said, users of low-end hardware would still be happy with the visuals that Jedi: Fallen Order offers.
At Medium, particle effects become less complex, the game’s lighting changes but the game’s core visuals remain mostly the same. More games should emulate this approach to lower graphical settings.
When moving between High and Epic settings, you could be forgiven for finding little to no difference between these two presets, aside from performance. Yes, particle effects are less complex and some aspects of the game look worse at a distance, but overall the game runs much smoother at High settings, making it worth the graphics hit for most gamers.
