Star Wars Jedi Survivor Tested - Huge performance gains with PC Patch 3.5

Loading-stutters – Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s major performance issue

Below are some images of our frametime and frame charts for our CPU benchmark run for 1080p Epic settings (with RT disabled) in our Koboh village test scene.

Looking at the graph below, you will be able to see that there are a lot of huge framerate spikes that define the performance profile of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in this area of the game. These huge framerate dips are very noticeable and have a huge impact on the fluidity of the game. Beyond that, the dips shown in the graph below do not even full showcase the size of this game’s loading related framerate/frametime dips when the game loads new data.

Looking at the frametime graph below, we can see the magnitude of the frametime spikes that we see in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The largest frametime spike is around 35ms long, which is more than three times longer than the average frametimes seen in the chart below. On top of that, these stutters typically include multiple frames that longer than usual.

These stutters break up the fluidity of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s gameplay and will be worse for PC players who are not running this game on a top of the line PC. Remember, these dips are on a system with an i9-13900K, and larger dips will be seen for players with weaker hardware configurations.
