The Last of Us Part 1 Patch 1.0.4 Tested - Improved Performance and new PC settings

Improved Quality at Low/Medium settings, but lowered VRAM utilisation

When The Last of Us Part 1 launched on PC, it was known to be a VRAM hog, with users of 8GB graphics cards often struggling to run the game at its High and Ultra preset. Thanks to update 1.0.2.0, The Last of Us Part 1’s VRA utilisation was significantly reduced, and patch 1.04.0 has notably lowered VRAM utilisation in most of our test cases.

With update 1.0.4.0, Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy have managed to greatly increase the resolution and detail of The Last of Us Part 1’s Low and Medium texture settings, improving the game’s visuals significantly for users of these graphical presets. Thankfully, this increase in detail does not come with increased VRAM utilisation.
