Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands PC Performance Review
1080p Performance
When we started testing it was clear that Ultra settings were not what we were going to recommend to most PC gamers, with even Nvidia’s mighty GTX 1080 failing to play the game at a constant 60+ FPS at 1080p. Ultra settings are for those who have insane SLI setups and more GPU power than most games even know what to do with, making these setting simply too much for the majority of PC gamers.
Moving down to Very High we gain a lot of additional performance in Ghost Recon Wildlands, with anything from the GTX 980Ti/GTX 1070 maintaining framerates of over 60FPS, at least under all but the most demanding of in-game situations.
We can also see that AMD’s R9 Fury X fails to offer anywhere near the performance that we would usually expect from the GPU, which was something that we also noticed in the game’s beta version. It is hugely disappointing to see that the developers have failed to utilise this GPU fully, as at 1080p it can barely stay ahead of the RX 480.
– Update – We have now added results from out GTX 1080Ti testing to this graph.
