Cache Flooding

As the cache utilises SLC and then the controller portions that off to the long term storage there will be a situation where the cache fills up and the drive slows down. Of course this is true of all drives, but with such a large cache on the Rocket Q we were very curious as to how it performed once that filled up. Unless you regularly edit feature length movies this is a problem you’ll never come across, but none the less the Sabrent Rocket Q quickly slows down as you cane the cache. It’s also worth noting that it only took one follow up test for the controller to clear it once we’d finished and the drive returned to normal. Again, you won’t be writing 2TB files to it in one lump so this will not really affect your real world performance.
