ASUS ROG NUC 970 Review

3DMARK Benchmarks

3DMARK VS ASUS’ ROG NUC 970

To get a glimpse of this PC’s general performance, we tested the ROG NUC with all modern versions of 3DMARK. This includes older benchmarks like Time Spy, and newer (ray tracing enabled) benchmarks like Speed Way and Steel Nomad.

So how does this new NUC fare? Generally, it delivers performance levels that are above a desktop RTX 3060 Ti and below a desktop RTX 4060 Ti. That’s to be expected from an RTX 4070 laptop GPU. That’s a lot of gaming performance for a PC of this size. In truth, most discrete GPUs with this level of performance would almost be as large as the full PC.

For our final 3DMARK test, we tried out the tool’s dedicated CPU benchmark. We used this benchmark when we tested Intel’s NUC 13 Extreme, which used a desktop-grade Intel Core i9-13900K CPU. Obviously, this CPU thrashed the ROG NUC’s CPU thanks to its higher power limit, extra CPU cores, and the fact it was installed inside a much larger system. Regardless, the ROG NUC doesn’t fare too badly here.
