Nvidia Shield Tablet Android 6.0 performance update

3DMARK

When it comes to benchmarking gaming performance Futuremark has always created some of the most accurate and reliable tools out there, and that is something that doesn't change when benchmarking on the Android Platform.

What we can see here is that moving from Android 5.1 to Android 6.0 gives us a decent performance boost in Android's version of 3DMARK, giving us a 17% performance boost in the Ice Storm test and a 15% performance boost in both of the Slingshot tests.

This a a huge boost in performance given the fact that both these scores came from the same hardware, showing that Android 6.0 is a massive improvement in the software side when compared to Android 5.1, at least when it comes to gaming.

I've never used the shield before. But I'm highly intrigued by it, as it seems like a pretty cool little weapon to have. Definitely going to be reading up on this, and checking it out if possible! Quote

I've got a shield, and if you just want to play games it's the only logical choice, runs emulators and Android games brilliantly, not sure about the whole streaming business though because I've never tried it.

I will say though, just get one of the older models with the B01 battery (The one the wasn't recalled) and not the K1 because the K1 doesn't come with a charger or the stylus which I won't lie is pretty good especially for DS emulation. Also the camera isn't great, but it's to be expected really.Quote
