PCS Quantum Master S Review

Conclusion

Should you be in the market for a new gaming system, and I think we all always are, then the PCSpecialist line-up is always attractive. Firstly, as regular readers will know, their choice of components is always spot on. We can’t remember them ever adding things purely to boost the price. We don’t recall a time when an average processor was in a premium motherboard, just because. Or vice versa. They always choose the right hardware.

Secondly, the build quality is on point. Whether you are buying a high end system or an affordable one, they all have the same attention to detail. The Quantum Master S is no exception. Cables are routed as carefully as possible. Everything is in its place and just works. That’s always a benefit when you buy a prebuilt system. No faffing about with hardware that was DOA. You have the guarantee it will power on, first time. Plus PCSpecialist’s warranty is always fantastic should the worst happen in the future.

Thirdly, and this is something that is so popular it’s bleeding into other companies, is their willingness to configure exactly what you want. No being stuck with a case you don’t want. Or lighting you despise, hardware you don’t need etc. You can have the exact system of your dreams.

Gaming Greatness

The Quantum Master S, like so many of their rigs, is carefully crafted. We can’t think of anything we would change. We might want a Type-C front panel connector on the case, but only because we’re too lazy to squeeze around the back of our rigs. But the twin tower cooler is excellent. The Ryzen CPU an absolute monster. Lastly, as anyone who read today’s review will know, the Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti Super is a blinding graphics card. Capable of running whatever you throw at it, with only a tiny change to maximum settings. Since every test we ran at 4K was over 60 FPS, even Cyberpunk 2077 with ray-tracing turned on can be handled by the Quantum Master S, albeit with DLSS on. We haven’t even got into the 2TB Gen4 M.2 that is so fast. The huge amount of memory it has – 32GB of Corsair DDR5.

Like all of the PCSpecialist range, the Quantum Master S is a fantastic proposition, fast, well built, well priced and more than capable of dropping jaws with it’s performance. We award it our OC3D Gamers Choice Award.

Price at Review Specification : £1699
