PCSpecialist Volt 750 System Review
Conclusion
Conclusion
We said in our introduction how carefully curated the PCSpecialist Volt 750 hardware is. Regular OC3D readers will know how much we rate Core i5-12400F. All of the Intel Core i5 processors make amazing foundations for gaming, and this is no different. Additionally, because it’s not the newest processor in the Intel stable, the price is low.
However, there is no getting away from the surprise of the Intel Arc A750 GPU. It’s crazy how capable it is. In our testing we ran at 1080P with everything turned up to the maximum. We got over 60 FPS in every title. Admittedly we weren’t running with ray-tracing on. However, find a GPU that can handle ray-tracing at this price point. Exactly. Even better when we did a little testing utilising Intel’s XeSS – their own DLSS/FSR tech – two things became clear. Firstly, unlike AMDs AFMF, the image quality wasn’t compromised. Secondly the rewards in performance were significant, 20 FPS or more.
Naturally a couple of things need to be kept in mind. The Intel Arc is not popular. They’re making massive strides with drivers, but there are still many titles that don’t play nicely with Intels GPU. Starfield for one. Secondly, it happily supports 4K in undemanding titles, so if you just want to play Fortnite or Stardew, you’ll be golden. Just don’t have unrealistic expectations. This is a whole PC for £699. Don’t expect RTX 4090-baiting performance. Lastly the 550W PSU and H610 motherboard limit future upgrades. Not a deal-breaker, just a compromise you have to make to obtain this much performance at this price point.
The PCSpecialist Volt 750 blew us away. By taking a third option, the Wakefield company have delivered a system of peerless value for money and wins our OC3D Gamers Choice Award.
