Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless SE Headset Review
Up Close continued
Height adjustment is vital for comfort, whether you need it high because you have low ears or high hair, the Virtuoso has plenty of adjustment from its metal hinges/band arrangement to ensure you have maximum comfort in use.
The controls are a beautifully weighted metal volume wheel sitting alongside the switch that toggles you between cabled connection and the Corsair Slipstream Wireless technology. The wireless works brilliantly, connecting quickly and free from interference.
On the left earcup you can see the USB Type-C connector for the supplied cable and just below that the 3.5mm jack input. You can also see how flexible the hinges and how deep the ear cups are.
The microphone continues the high standards we’ve seen so far, being fully metal and clicking firmly into place in the base of the headset. Often with detachable ones they can seem like they might fall out, but not here.
The all metal microphone is undoubtedly one of the finest, if not the, that we’ve come across in our decade looking at headsets. Both the connector and the mic itself are metal and the flexible arm between them is also of an extremely high quality. There is a spectacularly bright LED ring at the front of the mic which shows green when it’s live and red when muted.
Lastly the microphone mute button is cleverly installed on the base of the microphone itself. It’s great to know that if you’re leaving the microphone at home you haven’t got another button on the ear pieces to get in the way, but equally if the mic is installed then the mute button is within easy reach.
