Anidees AI5S Case Review

Up Close:  Interior Rear

Where do we start?  Well there’s a lot going on back here.  For starters, there’s excellent cable managment, plenty of cable tie points, and down the left hand side a 25mm deep trough for handling the thicker cables.  Anidees have also included some velcro ties in this area.

The majority of the case though has a 20mm deep cable management area, which to be honest is more than adequate.

The AI5S also has a well equipped fan hub, which is linked to the speed controller on the front I/O.  Two of the ports are seen taken by the pair for 120mm up front, but there are still plenty of ports left.  Something such as this is a nice touch when placed in a case that has great water cooling potential as it enables the user to control all their fans together and set at the speed desired.

Along with the pair of 2.5″ mounts at the front, there’s also a pair around the back, and another set running down the left hand channel as seen on the first image on this page.  In total that makes four stealth 2.5″ mounts and two show off mounts, so don’t go worrying that there’s not enough storage.

If you still feel the need for good old fashioned 3.5″ spinners, then fret not as there’s a rack of three down below decks, which each of these also being able to take 2.5″ drives.  To the rear there’s the PSU area.  On paper this case can take PSUs up to 220mm in length with the racks in place.  In practice however we found it impossible to get our 170mm long CM PSU in there, and were forced to use a shorter model.  The other option would have been to remove the HDD rack, which ups the max length available to a very reasonable 350mm.
