CoolerMaster MasterLiquid 240 AIO Review

Conclusion

Well cards on the table, the Coolermaster MasterLiquid 240 is a well-made, well put together, and decent performing AIO.  It has above average, and certainly above OEM looks, a better than average build quality and a performance that’s not to be sniffed at.  It romped home on all our Sky lake tests, and made a reasonable fist of the much more demanding KabyLake tests.  It’s really easy to put together, catering for a whole host of AMD and Intel CPUs, including 2011-3 and the new AM4 socket which is quite a big deal right now.  Price wise it’s pitched very well too, OK, so not the cheapest 240 AIO on the market, but by no means the most expensive either.  From a performance perspective, the MasterLiquid 240 passed all the tests apart from the KabyLake 5.0Ghz test, which we were quite surprised at.  Take a look at the graphs on the last page and you’ll see that it’s not a chart topper, that is until you scroll down to the noise measurement tests, and see that the MasterLiquid 240 is one of the quietest AIOs we’ve ever looked at. It also represents pretty good value for money, as demonstrated by our Price Vs Performance charts, with only the SilverStone Tundra TD-02E beating it.  If you want better outright performance and are willing to pay for it, then yes there are better performing coolers out there but only because of higher spinning RPM fans and lets be frank a noisier experience.  If however you’re looking for a nice looking AIO that get’s the job done and won’t break the bank or wake your sleeping newborn baby, then the MasterLiquid 240 should be on your short list.
