Noctua NF-12×15 Slim Fan Performance Review
NF-A12x15
The NF-A12x15 comes exquisitely packaged, but that’s not really a surprise, it is a Noctua product after all. Â Along with details on the rear of the box, both the front and rear have velcro closed flaps, opening which reveals even more detail and information on the product. Â We’re convinced that Noctua put more time and effort into designing and manufacturing the packaging, than some manufacturers do for their actual product!
Â
The fan and accessories are further contained withing a plastic formed case that inserts into the outer box, and keeps everything nice and tidy.
Â
Along with the fan you also get a set of four rubber noise dampening mounts, a set of conventional screws, a fan splitter cable, a speed reducing adapter and a fan extension cable.
Â
You’re either a fan of Noctua’s colour combination or you’re not, and on the whole, we’re not. Â Well, i’m not anyway. Â Perhaps in a white case these might look ok, but it’s hard to see them fitting in aesthetically anywhere else. Â On the other hand, any fellow enthusiast who happens to look into your case will know that you’ve spared no expense in making it look ugly. Â And while we’re at it, we don’t think the exposed metal work on the hub does anything to improve matters.
Â
There is though a fantastic attention to detail, take these built in rubber vibration dampers for example. Â How easy do you think it was to get the colour to exactly match the diarrhea brown of the fan blades?
