Phanteks’ Glacier One 360D30 CPU Liquid Cooler Review

Phanteks' Glacier One 360D30 CPU Liquid Cooler Review

Conclusion

If we were only to say one thing about Phanteks’ new Glacier One 360D30, it’s that it is a very pretty liquid cooler. Phanteks has put a lot of effort into the little details with these new designs, and the result of these efforts is one of the best looking AIOs that we have ever seen.

With daisy-chainable fans, and a selection of clips and covers that hide this AIO’s visible screws, this new cooler from Phanteks is designed to allow PC builders to create ultra-clean systems without much hassle. Even this AIO’s hoses can be made parallel using the AIO’s included hose clips, giving users more control over their AIO’s hoses than competing designs. Like the cable combs that are included with premium PSU cables, these chips can really improve the look of your AIO’s tubing.

The only negative thing that we have to say about the Glacier One’s aesthetic is that the white colour of this AIO’s radiator is not a perfect match for this AIO’s fans. As you can see below, this is hard to spot in practice as your AIO is almost always in the shadow of your PC case. This makes this downside a minor nitpick, especially given how difficult it is to colour match whites on different materials.

Phanteks' Glacier One 360D30 CPU Liquid Cooler Review

Thermally, the Glacier One from Phanteks performs admirably, but it fails to surpass some competing 360mm liquid cooler designs. That said, this cooler is only a handfull of degrees behind the best of the best, and Phanteks’ asking price of £154.99 isn’t  that high when compared with other premium liquid cooling solutions.

While Phanteks’ Glacier One 360D30 AIO doesn’t offer record-breaking levels of cooling performance, if offers many additions that most AIOs with this pricing lack. Phanteks’ D30 daisy-chainable fans are premium fans, and their screw covers and simple cable management are options that many other coolers in this price range do not possess. Beyond that, a triple pack of his AIO’s fans costs £74.99 standalone, which makes the actual heatsink side of this AIO package £80 if you separate off the fans.

Phanteks’ Glacier One 360D30 CPU liquid cooler is an easy winner of OC3D’s Exceptional Aesthetics Award. This AIO is well built and it looks great. In a world where most CPU liquid coolers look the same, Phanteks has done a great job making their units stand out, and they have done so while retaining reasonable pricing and solid levels of cooling performance.
