The Ultimate Gaming Case? HAVN HS420 PC Case Review
HAVN HS420 VS HS420 VGPU
HAVN HS420 vs HS420 VGPU – Which is best?
Below, we can see the primary differences between the HAVN HS 420 and the HS 420 VGPU. The standard HS 420 model has a flat bottom fan bracket and includes a standard GPU support add-on. Note that these parts are not included with the HS 420 VGPU.
The HAVN HS420 GPU includes an angled bottom fan bracket, a glass airflow guide, a PCIe 5.0 riser cable, and a vertical GPU mounting solution. This is an ideal configuration for an air-cooled graphics card. However, those who want to liquid cool a vertically mounted GPU may want a flat bottom fan mount for their fans. After all, an angled bottom fan mount and it’s airflow guide would be useless for users of liquid-cooled graphics cards.
HS420 VGPU Airflow Pattern
Below, we can see how the HS 420 VGPU’s airflow pattern works. First, air is taken in through the bottom of the case and directed at the front of your graphics card. This allows cool air to flow through your GPU and exhaust out of the top and back of the case. This is an ideal airflow pattern for an air-cooled graphics card.
A great value VGPU solution? PCIe 5.0!
HAVN has released one of the world’s first commercially available PCIe 5.0 riser cables with their new HS420 VGPU case. With Nvidia reportedly supporting PCIe 5.0 with their upcoming RTX 50 series GPUs, this may make HAVN the first company to release a vertical GPU mounting solution that is “RTX 5090 Ready”.
The VGPU model costs only £70 more than its standard counterpart, making HAVN’s vertical GPU mounting solution a great value add-on when compared to 3rd party riser card solutions. Currently, nobody else has a PCIe 5.0-compatible vertical GPU mounting kit, though that should change in the near future.
