The Ultimate Gaming Case? HAVN HS420 PC Case Review

Conclusion and Video

HAVN has created a modder’s paradise

HAVN is new to the PC case market, and if the HS 420 series is anything to go by, we hope they are here to stay. What we have here is a big, reasonably priced case packed with features. Furthermore, we have a very modder-friendly case that allows users to easily customise this chassis to their liking.

With space for up to 11 140mm fans, this case has plenty of options for airflow. With support for up to three 420mm radiators, this case is also ideal for water-cooling enthusiasts. Overall, HAVN has left us very impressed, though that doesn’t mean we like all aspects of this case.

HAVN HS420 VGPU – It needs a flat bottom fan bracket

While we like the HAVN HS420 VGPU, we feel it needs to ship with its angled bottom GPU mount and a flat bottom fan mount. Why? While the angled mount is ideal for air-cooled GPUs, a flat mount is better for users of liquid-cooled GPUs. This option would allow users to place a thick 420mm radiator at the bottom of this case. As it stands, the HS 420 VGPU is only a good option for users with air-cooled graphics cards.

HAVN can address this issue by selling its flat-bottom radiator plates separately or shipping them with the HS420 VGPU. Either way, we want an official way to add a flat bottom plate to the HS420 VGPU.

The HS420 has some serious potential

HAVN has clearly taken the design of its HS420 cases seriously. The cases are well-built, well-designed, and reasonably priced. Yes, they are expensive, but you get a lot for your money. The HS 4520 VGPU is the only case that we know of that ships with a  PCIe 5.0 riser card. That makes it the only case with a vertical GPU mount that is “RTX 5090 ready”. Yes, that GPU will probably work with PCIe 4.0, but it is good to have that level of future-proofing.

If you are into modding, this case is a blank canvas. There is a lot of space for customisation here, which means you can make this case your own. No HS 420 PC needs to look the same as any other, which is great. Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing what modders do with this case.

The HAVN HS 420 deserves nothing less than the OC3D Enthusiast Award. There’s a reason we are using this case for your Intel Core Ultra 200 and Intel Z890 testing. We love this case and look forward to seeing what HAVN has in store for us.
