TRYX TURRIS 620 CPU Cooler Review
Meet the TRYX TURRIS 620
TRYX enters the CPU air-cooler market with its TURRIS 620 heatsink
When we visited TRYX at Computex 2026, we were excited to see their TURRIS CPU cooler for the first time. TRYX made a name for itself with its CPU liquid-cooling solutions, primarily for the aesthetic appeal of its LCD screens and unique cooler designs. Personally, I have lost count of the number of CPU coolers that have copied the TRYX Panorama‘s design.
TRYX has sent us their TURRIS CPU coolers in black and white. Both models offer identical thermal performance, and both ship with 5-inch IPS displays. This gives these two coolers a premium aesthetic and a feature that is rare for air-based CPU heatsinks.
Pricing
The TRYX TURRIS is available from Overclockers UK for £129.95. Both the white and black versions of this CPU cooler are available at the same price. Right now, this is the most affordable CPU cooler that TRYX produces. That said, this makes the TURRIS a premium air cooler.
Looking below the heastink, we see a dual-tower design with two fans, six heatpipes, and a nickel-plated micro-convex copper base. Out of the box, the base of this heatsink is protected by a sticker, which we have peeled off.
This CPU cooler’s top-mounted LCD screen is magnetically attached to the cooler. Once the screen is removed, we can see this CPU cooler’s central fan, which is installed using a rail system.
The cooler’s front fan can be moved upward to enable support for tall DRAM kits (up to 55mm tall). That said, we do not recommend using tall DRAM with this cooler, as raising the fan ruins the cooler’s aesthetic. Since most users of this CPU cooler will be buying it for its LCD screen, we do not recommend ruining this coolers aesthetic by using tall RAM modules.
Intel Core Ultra CPU offset
By removing and moving this CPU cooler’s mounting bracket, users of the TURRIS can utilise an Intel Core Ultra 200-series offset mount. This will improve the CPU thermals of Intel’s latest CPUs when used with this CPU cooler. Since we tested with Intel’s older Core i5-14600K CPU, we opted to not use TRYX’s offset mount, as this CPU generation has a different “thermal center”.
OC3D CPU Cooler Test Rig Specifications
Last year, we built a new PC for CPU cooler testing. This new PC has a newer, hotter-running CPU, a more power-hungry graphics card, and a cooling layout that is common for today’s gaming PCs. Simply put, we have moved to more modern hardware so that we can better test modern CPU cooling solutions.
