Although the x264 benchmark gave some hope that the rest of the Gaming 5 was able to overcome the clock speed deficit, CineBench R11.5 shines a very bright spotlight upon it. The Gigabyte motherboard is giving up performance in the CPU test and in the OpenGL test too. 

Unigine Valley

There is a massive drop-off in performance here. Tenths of frames are usually the measuring stick, whereas the Gaming 5 is almost ten whole frames behind the Maximus VII Hero. Crikey.
