Given the slightly smaller overclock we were able to obtain with the Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5 it’s not a great surprise that in the Sandra benchmarks, so reliant upon ultimate clock speed, that the Gaming 5 finds itself rooted to the foot of the graphs. Again it’s worth pointing out that although it’s always at the bottom it is at least close to the other motherboards we’ve tested.
