Intel Core i9 10980XE and ASUS ROG Rampage VI Extreme Encore Review

ASUS ROG Rampage VI Extreme Encore Review

HEVC

HEVC does a similar thing to the x.265 benchmark but instead of running with the x265 encoder it utilises the popular H.265 format which is rapidly becoming the standard for video encoding.

If you’ve read our Threadripper 3960X review you’ll already be aware that the H.265 encoder prefers the Intel Architecture to the AMD setup, and it’s clear here, with even the Core i9-7980XE finding itself in second place. Impressive stuff. When it comes to motherboards the Waterforce just edges the Encore, by well under a half a frame per second. Despite not being the latest model the Rampage VI Extreme does welll at stock.
