It’s funny how quickly we went from stubby aerials for WiFi to this triangular design. It’s clearly a good solution as it’s the only option on higher end motherboards.

Although we’ll go into detail on the Z890 MPG Carbon in a moment, we know that it’s also handy to have an overview. Looking at it like this it’s clear how little of the Carbon is keeping that name alive. Three small thin strips – two on the VRM heatsink and one on the chipset heatsink – are understated. Only the main NVMe PCIe Gen 5 slot heatsink really pushes the carbon boat out.
