Gigabyte RTX 4070 Ti Super Aero Review

Conclusion

The Gigabyte RTX 4070 Ti Super Aero is a breath of fresh air after the complexities of the vanilla RTX 4070 Super release. Whereas that card came with a swathe of caveats about a number of elements, the Gigabyte Super Aero is much simpler. Part of this is due to Nvidia stopping production of the current Ti. Without having to squeeze it into the range, it has a place to reside. By beefing up the performance it’s what the name implies. A RTX 4070 Ti, just Super. Evolved. Better, but at the same price point.

What we particularly like is that the RTX 4070 Ti is very much the sweet spot in the Nvidia range. With cards below you’re compromising on your resolution, or performance for affordability. With cards above (RTX 4080/4090) you’re compromising your budget to get those tasty FPS. The Ti is the well rounded option. It’s the Volkswagen Golf of the graphics card world. The only card you actually need. By improving it, and doing so by the margins we’ve seen today, it is even more desirable.

So we know the underlying card is good. How does the Gigabyte Aero version stack up?

Clearly the Aero design theme is a strong one in the Gigabyte range. They’ve made the extra effort to ensure that all the products match aesthetically. This takes the pressure off if you want a rig that looks harmonious. Given how few white hardware items are around, having one that ticks all the boxes is a real plus. There are no compromises in performance to be made just to make your system white. As you could see from our graphs the Aero really makes the most of the underlying Ti Super GPU. The extra hardware makes the biggest difference in the most strenuous of our tests. Additionally that massive cooler works like a charm. There is easily 20°C of headroom before you get close to the thermal limit. If you love overclocking, the Gigabyte Aero has plenty to give.

With a very attractive design, a low temperature whilst remaining quiet cooling solution, and big lumps of performance, the Gigabyte RTX 4070 Ti Super Aero comfortably wins our OC3D Gamers Choice Award.
