Just Cause 3 – AMD VS Nvidia Performance Review
GTX 980 Ti VS R9 Fury X – Low, Medium, High, Very high and Max at 4K
In a similar way to our mid range results the high end GTX 980Ti and AMD R9 Fury X perform very similarly at maximum settings, but when the settings go lower AMD has a lot of trouble keeping up with Nvidia.
At maximum settings AMD is around 4 FPS behind Nvidia for both their minimum and avarge framerate, which is something that is expected for an Nvidia GameWorks game, but the gap widens as the settings get lower.
At low settings AMD’s average framerate is almost as low as Nvidia’s minimum framerate, which is something that is very weird given AMD’s performance at higher settings.
During a typical bit of gameplay AMD and Nvidia perform much more similarly, but while driving in the game AMD gets hit particularly hard, which is why Nvidia takes the lead here.
