Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst PC Performance Review

Mirror's Edge Catalyst PC Performance Review

1080p Testing with the GTX 960 and R9 380

At 1080p on our mid-range R9 380 and GTX 960 GPUs Mirror’s Edge Catalyst runs great, with both GPUs offering steady framerates all the way to Hyper settings.

Turning the game down to low allows both of these GPUs to pass the 120FPS average framerate barrier, which is a huge feat for such modestly priced GPUs. While Mirror’s Edge is not the most graphically impressive game to release in recent months, but it is certainly not ugly and it offers amazing performance for the visuals it provides.

In a game about running and jumping quickly through the environment, a high and steady framerate is key, making it fantastic to see that even modestly priced GPUs can achieve both at even the highest graphical settings.

In terms of pure performance, the R9 380 stays ahead of Nvidia’s GTX 960 throughout our tests, though both GPUs still offer a very similar gameplay experience, only differing by as little as 2 frames when we look at the minimum performance.
