MSI MAG 321URX QD-OLED Review

Up Close

We normally score products highly when they have a plain cardboard box. Environmental friendliness is important, especially given that boxes tend to live in the loft for a couple of years before finally just being thrown away. However, the flip-side of this is when we’re spending a huge chunk of change on something. We want the courier to deliver us an event. Something we can stare at. A product which makes us feel like we got our monies worth. The MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED ticks that box. I was born in the 70s and it feels like my first wallpaper.

If you’ve strolled round your local, brightly lit, emporium you might have noticed how reflective OLED panels can be. Given the bright lights we have in the office, and the fact the 321URX is off, this is a worst case scenario photograph. It shows how fantastic the anti-reflective coating is. Really top drawer stuff.

Around the back the large custom heatsink lives around the stand connector/VESA mount. Venting out of the top, naturally. The MSI Dragon logo shows off your taste to passers by.

The combination of different greys – flat, brushed, polished, and a carbon effect – keep the eye interested. You can also see the Kensington lock at the bottom right should you need it.

Connectivity comes in the form of a headphone jack, two HDMI 2.1 ports capable of 4K240 and a DisplayPort 1.4. There is a 90W Type-C charger next to the two USB 2.0 ports too.

The OSD, which we’ll see on the next page, is controlled by a 5 way joystick. Careful if you have fat fingers as the power switch is also found in this cluster.

No photograph will ever do justice to the visual impact the QD-OLED panel on the MSI 321URX has. Hopefully, however, seeing how much the colours pop even under our intense office lights will give you an indication.

321URX Screen Gorgeousness

For those of you who like your bezels thin you’ll be pleased to note the 321URX has a barely there exterior. Careful when picking it up.
