MSI MAG 321URX QD-OLED Review

Conclusion

We’re not going to pretend that the MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED panel is for everyone. For a start it’s a 4K offering with a 32 inch panel size, so you’ll need a big desk and a reasonable amount of beefy GPU hardware to run it at its best. Add to that 240Hz maximum refresh rate and you’d either need some mythical future graphics card, or to be playing Terraria, to properly max the resolution and refresh rates.

Those two elements are, however, exactly why we feel it does score well. Even leaving aside the OLED splendour – not easily done – the 4K240 nature of the panel ensures that it will be providing you with cutting edge capabilities for many years to come. Pricing is always dependant upon your own finances, but at your erstwhile writers end of the financial spectrum this monitor needs to be good for at least 5 years or more. Those specifications ensure it will.

Quantum Dot OLED technology is the star of the show here. If you’ve not experienced OLED technology at all then mere words cannot fully express how jaw-dropping it is. Even the best regular LED panel doesn’t come close. It’s not even in the same ballpark as a good OLED panel. Be in no doubt, the MSI MPG 321URX is a very good OLED panel. Let’s give you a couple of similes. You know how in Pulp Fiction Jules wants to know if a $5 shake is worth it and it is? That. Or if you’ve ever had a premium burger when compared to a McDonalds one. That kind of night and day difference, a level of ‘getting what you paid for’ is what OLED technology is all about.

Wrap Up

Colour richness, deep blacks, a lack of motion blur or ghosting, and lots of detail in the areas at the boundaries of a histogram are the hallmarks of the MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED monitor. It costs a pretty penny, but it will last you years. It has anti-burn-in technologies in the panel itself, and a big warranty to help you sleep at night. Perhaps the HDR isn’t matching the class-leaders, but that’s a minor weakness in an otherwise stellar offering, and wins the MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED our OC3D Performance Award.
