MSI Optix MAG272CQR Review

We get so used to packaging that can live on a shelf somewhere to not only show off your choice of product but also serving as a handy place to keep all the accessories you might not need on day one but still want to know where they are, that the very plain brown cardboard box of the Optix MAG came as something of a shock. Of course monitor boxes are hardly the smallest of things and will quickly be relegated to the shed or loft.

  

Curving your display was something which first appeared on televisions and didn’t really seem like a good fit. After all, TVs are usually around six foot or more away from your seat and have the family spread around the room trying to see. But on computer monitors they make perfect sense, allowing you to run a multi-monitor setup that envelopes your vision whilst also reducing any reflections from your surroundings. With it much nearer the curve becomes like a warm visual blanket instead of a distraction.

  

One of the coolest transitions to have taken place in the monitor revolution is that manufacturers have finally realised that a good adjustable stand is a must. Yes Ergotron shareholders must be gnashing their teeth, but for those of us buying a monitor it’s nice to know you no longer need to account for a third party stand in your budget. whilst if you want to get the tilt on point you’ll be pleased to see that it has a good amount of rotational adjustment available too. Excellent stuff.
