Shaders, or in nVidia-speak CUDA Cores, are clearly the defining factor in Crysis 3 performance. Although overclocking the MSI R9 290 Gaming gives us a 5 and 3 FPS performance boost, it isn’t enough to launch it up the graph, even if the MSI is a mile ahead of the PowerColor version in the higher resolution.
