It would seem at first glance that the Lightning is very close to the ASUS DirectCU II version of the 290X, but when you look at the Firestrike Extreme test and see that the MSI is 130 points ahead, which is about the same distance it’s behind the best of the overclocked GTX780Ti’s it puts things into perspective.
