Nvidia RTX 4060 with ASUS Dual and Gigabyte Windforce Review
Gigabyte RTX 4060 Windforce OC
If you like your box-art to grab the attention then the Gigabyte is certainly the “on the shop shelf” winner. We know that matters little, but style wins the day when people don’t know any better, and the RTX 4060 is priced to be an impulsive purchase.
The Windforce design of the Gigabyte take upon the newest Nvidia GPU follows, or leads, the ASUS concept of a small form factor, dual fan design eliminating any extraneous flair in the name of cost effectiveness.
The backplate is nice and neutral ensuring it fits within any setup. It’s got that texture which we normally find on the nanocarbon motherboard backplates. It’s certainly better than a gloss one guaranteed to show up dust and fingerprints.
If you’ve been following the world of graphics cards for a long time then the side view of the RTX 4060 Windforce OC will be very familiar, with a simple shroud showing off a shiny copper heatpipe built into a thick heatsink.
We often talk about how the regular PCIe power connector is important in affordable systems, as we all own power supplies that can connect to it, so it’s nice to see the RTX 4060 sticking to this tried and tested format.
Connectivity comes from two DisplayPorts and two HDMIs ensuring that all but the oldest monitors will find a home on the RTX 4060.
