PC DIY With ASUS new GC-HPWR BTF Swappable Design

Introduction and Technical Specifications

ASUS new GC-HPWR BTF

Introduction

When we first looked at BTF systems we came away with the idea that they were fantastic at keeping your system tidy, but the limitation of the design only being available on select models could be an issue. ASUS, it seems, agree with us. They have gone back to the drawing board and re-designed the GPU BTF connector to now support 1000 W. Impressive enough. But they’ve also brought out a new TUF Gaming RTX 5070 Ti BTF that fixes all of our misgivings.

How so? Simple really. As you’ll see in a moment the new design can be used in a BTF style, or also in the standard power arrangement. It’s the best of both worlds. You’re not longer limited to one particular design, nor is any future hardware purchase limited by having to be BTF or not to fit your GPU.

For those of you who loved the idea but would prefer to be able to utilise the wildly popular AMD Ryzen X3D range, you’ll be pleased to note there is a new BTF AMD motherboard being launched too. The TUF Gaming B850-BTF WiFi.

We’re going to cover both today, although obviously our primary coverage is the fantastic, game-changing, RTX 5070 Ti TUF BTF. Any card that works in every system could bring a massive uptick in BTF systems. When that card also happens to be the sweet spot in both the ASUS and Nvidia product ranges, it’s guaranteed to sell in massive quantities. Let’s take a look.
