There is no denying the Nitro+ package makes an impact. Loud and proud is the way. Given that Sapphire have really innovated with this card, we don’t blame them for yelling.
From the front everything looks pretty regulation. Three fans, plenty of ventilation. Standard stuff at this end of the market.
Around the back is where Sapphire and the Nitro+ really make our jaws drop. They’ve moved the power connector internally, hiding it away. It’s like the BTF motherboard idea, transferred into graphics cards. How has nobody ever thought of this before? In one fell swoop your whole system is made neater.
In the gap, which will be covered by the magnetic backplate, we have the power connector and a ARGB header. Sapphire supply connector cables so even if you’ve an older PSU you can take advantage of this setup.
With everything in place you just drop the backplate on – magnetically attached – and you immediately get a clean looking rig. It’s genius. Like all the best ideas it’s obvious when you see it. You might even think you could’ve done that. But you didn’t, otherwise we’d be talking about you.
Such is the fantastic cable concept that the rest of the card is almost an afterthought. DisplayPorts and HDMIs handle your connection needs. There is an RGB light bar at the front. None of those things will be what you think of when you think of the RX 9070 XT Nitro+.
