XFX RX 9070 Quick Silver Up Close
If the RX 9070 XT is too expensive for you, or perhaps you’ll just never utilise all it offers, then perhaps the AMD RX 9070 will be up your street? Here in XFX Quick Silver form – and we thank them for spelling things correctly – it’s affordable and gorgeous to look at.
In fact it’s extremely similar to the Mercury white card we’ve just seen. Three eleven-bladed fans dominate the front side.
The back is also similar to the design of the XT version, with a large cutout for the power connectors. You can also see XFX not doing things by halves when it comes to the pass-through airflow port. All that lovely cool air. Glorious.
The thickness is really noticeable. We think it looks less obvious in the black than it did the white. However, the side panel still makes the triple slotness more evident than just seeing the heatsink.
Speaking of heatsinks the XFX has some very meaty fins going on down there. Plenty of heatpipes and three fans added to all this should keep the card cool. We’ll find out soon enough.
Whereas the RX 9070 XT required three 8pin PCIe power connectors, the RX 9070 only needs two. This fact, coupled with the specification table we saw back on the first page, makes this feel more like a RX 9060* than a 9070.
*RX 9060 doesn’t exist to our knowledge, we just mean theoretically.
Lastly the familiar 1+3 display options are found at the business end of the Quick Silver.
