Rise of the Tomb Raider DirectX 12 Performance Review

Rise of the Tomb Raider - AMD VS Nvidia Performance Review

1080p Testing with AMD R9 Fury X and Nvidia GTX 980Ti

Moving onto the high end GTX 980Ti and R9 Fury X we see very similar results to our lower end GPUs, with DirectX 12 actually giving us less in-game performance than the older DirectX 11 API.

It seems that right now gamers are best off sticking with the games DirectX 11 API if they want the best performance, though at least for Nvidia the performance decrease would not be that noticeable in-game.

At 1080p AMD see quite a significant performance loss, with their average framerate at 1080p Lowest preset decreasing from 153.624 all the way down to 136.587, which around 12% less performance.
